Thousands of Wildebeest Born Daily: Nature at Its Most Tender & Dramatic
Embark on an unforgettable safari to witness the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration in the Ndutu Plains: a mineral-rich landscape that becomes the heart of the migration during calving season. This is one of nature's most dramatic events, where thousands of newborn wildebeest and zebra take their first steps each day, while predators closely follow in search of opportunity. This seasonal experience runs from late December to late March.
The short, nutrient-rich grasses of the Ndutu area provide ideal nourishment for newborns, while the open visibility helps protect them from predators. The abundance of easy prey creates extraordinary predator-prey encounters: cheetah hunts in full sprint, lion prides with cubs feeding, and spotted hyena clans in peak activity.
The itinerary begins with an arrival in Arusha, moves to the Ndutu calving grounds for two full days of migration wildlife, and concludes with a spectacular descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for Big Five game viewing before returning to Arusha.
