Kilimanjaro's Majestic Neighbor

Climb Mount Meru (4,566m)

Often considered a "warm-up" for Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is a spectacular volcanic giant in its own right and Tanzania's second-highest peak. Located entirely within Arusha National Park, the trek offers a rewarding challenge with stunning scenery, diverse ecosystems, and unique wildlife viewing opportunities on its lower slopes.

The climb to Socialist Peak (4,566m / 14,980ft) typically takes 3-4 days, ascending through forests inhabited by colobus monkeys and buffalo, past heather moorlands, and up to a dramatic caldera rim with an impressive central ash cone. Summit sunrises often reveal breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro floating above the clouds.
